Christ Was NOT Born in December!

Christ Was NOT Born in December!

Does it Matter?

JESUS WAS NOT BORN IN DECEMBER
in the scriptures sinners aloneNOT saints
celebrate their birthdays.”
– the Catholic Encyclopedia

“In the Scriptures, no one is recorded
to have kept a feast or held a great banquet
on his birthday. It is only sinners who make
great rejoicings over the day in which they
were born into this world”
– (Catholic Encyclopedia, 1908 edition,
     Vol. 3, p. 724, “Natal Day”).

“(Christmas)- Such a festival came under
the condemnation of Galatians 4:9-11,
and should have no place in a Christian church.”
-Romanism vs. Apostolic Christianity,
Helgerson;  Dr. Ironside; (Chicago); 1919

“But now you know God… So why are you turning
back to those weak and worthless beliefs?
Do you want to be slaves to them all over again?
You are observing special days and months and
seasons and years!….I am afraid that somehow
I have wasted my efforts on you.”
(Galatians 4:9-11)(NIRV)-BibleGateway

“the general Christian usage was to
celebrate the death of remarkable persons
rather than their birth.”
(Encyclopedia Americana, 1942, Vol.6, 623)

“…the day of one’s death is better
than the day of one’s birth.
The end of a matter is better
than its beginning…”
(Ecclesiastes 7:1,8)(NASB)-BibleGateway

If God had wanted us to celebrate Christ’s birth –
he would have recorded the date – but he didn’t.
But-the exact date and time of his son’s death
WAS recorded.

Not only is the concept “WRONG” for a Birthday
Celebration for Christ – but even the date is wrong,
since the Bible’s account clearly shows that Jesus
was born in a Warm month.  The Fact that all
the pagan sun-gods starting with Nimrod of Ancient
Babylon – celebrated their birthdays on Dec. 25,
makes the compromise even that much worse.

“Clearly, Jesus was not born in December.”
— Christmas
By Darren E. Mays and Michael B. Willey

How do we Know ?

So many people celebrate Jesus’ Birth
in the Cold month of December.  They don’t
even think about it.  They just do it.

Shepherds Sleeping Outdoors at Night
Only in Warmer Months.
Shepherds and Sheep in Bethlehem Warm Months

But those who are familiar with the Bible’s
account of his birth, would know that he was
born in a warm month, when the shepherds were
still sleeping out doors at night – with their
flocks.

“Carefully reading the story in the Bible,
we find that Christ was not born in the winter.
During the winter, it is usually cold and wet i
n the Holy Land. Any good shepherd would not
leave his sheep out in the elements to suffer
from the cold. Look at Luke 2:7-8:
“And she brought forth her firstborn Son,
and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths,
and laid Him in a manger, because there was
no room for them in the inn. Now there were i
n the same country shepherds living out in
the fields, keeping watch over their flock
by night.” “
-Was Christ Really Born on Christmas?
    By Lorelei Nettles

Also, Joseph and Mary would not have traveled
to Bethlehem in the cold wet month of December.
The census was always done in warmer months.

“And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field,
keeping watch over their flock by night”
(Luke 2:8).

“This simple statement from the Gospel of Luke
is sufficient evidence to defeat the argument
that Christ was born on Dec. 25.”
– Christmas
By Darren E. Mays and Michael B. Willey

“It was the practice of shepherds 2,000 years ago
to take their flocks out into the fields during
warm weather and to stay with the flock overnight
to guard against predators. In December, however,
it is too cold for the sheep to be in the fields
and they were kept in pens.”
– Christmas
By Darren E. Mays and Michael B. Willey

“It is clear that our Savior was born before
the 25th of December.  At that time it is cold,
and especially in the high and mountainous regions a
bout Bethlehem”
-noted commentator, Albert Barnes
(Barnes’ Notes on the New Testament, Vol. 1,
Kregel Publications, 1962, p. 189).

“Since the flocks were taken up in late October
there would have been no shepherds in the field
to hear the message of the angel of God
(Luke 2:9-14) had Jesus been born on Dec. 25.”
– Christmas
By Darren E. Mays and Michael B. Willey

Very Cold Winters in December
in Bethlehem and Israel

“Evidence of the harsh nature of the weather
in the Middle East in December can be found i
n recent history. On Dec. 17, 1992, the Israeli
government banished Palestinians to southern
Lebanon because of the bitter cold.”
– (Time, Jan. 11, 1993, pp. 10-22).

“There is no certainty as to the month or day
of the birth [of Jesus]. The Christmas date,
December 25…was…borrowed from a pagan festival.
‘December’… seems unlikely, as unsuitable
for the pasturing of flocks.
A more probable date –
is a couple of months earlier”
-(The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia,
     1986, “Jesus Christ,” p. 1628).

A far more likely scenario is that Jesus was born
in the early autumn, around the time of the biblical
Feast of Tabernacles (Leviticus 23:34-36), when Joseph
and Mary would have traveled to Jerusalem to keep
the Feast along with thousands of other Jewish families.
This also helps us understand why in the town Bethlehem,
a few miles to the south of Jerusalem, “there was no room
for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7)- the town would have been
crowded with other travelers keeping the Feast at this
time of year.

Christ Was Born in a WARM Month!

JESUS WAS BORN DURING A WARM MONTH

CHRIST’S BIRTH – NOT IN THE WINTER!

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby,
keeping watch over their flocks at night.”
(Luke 2:8)(NIV)-BibleGateway

The Biblical account says that the Shepherds and their
sheep were still sleeping outdoors at the time of
Christ’s birth.  Winter-time would have been too Cold.

“…the last week of December corresponds to the tenth
month of the Jewish sacred calendar known as Tebeth,
when there are frequent frosts and occasional snow
florishes in Jerusalem…”
– The Geography of the Bible; by Denis Baly

CHRIST  WAS  PROBABLY  BORN IN LATE SEPTEMBER –
OR EARLY OCTOBER

“It was an ancient custom among the Jews of those days
to send their sheep to the fields and deserts about
Passover (early spring)and
bring them home at
commencement of the first rain…
During the time they were out, the shepherds watched them
night and day, as… the first rains began early
in the month of Marchesvan, which answers to part of our
October… we find that
the sheep were kept out
in the open country during the whole summer,

and as these shepherds had not yet brought home their flocks,
it is a presumptive argument that
October had not yet
commenced(begun)
, and consequently,
our Lord was not born
on the 25th of December,
when no flocks were out in the
fields by night. On this very ground, the nativity in December
should be given up.”
– Adam Clark Commentary, Volume 5, page 347

It is evident that Jesus was not born
during the middle of winter
, for at the time of his birth,
the shepherds were living out in the fields with their
flocks. As the bible says: ‘There were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their
flock by night” (Luke 2:8).
As is well known, the shepherds
in Palestine do not “abide in the fields” during
the winter season because of the extreme, cold
temperatures
.
The shepherds always bring their flocks
in from the mountain slopes and fields
no later than
October 15th! “
– Mede’s Works, 1679. Discourse xlvii

THE WEATHER IN JERUSALEM / BETHLEHEM –
IS BITTER COLD IN DECEMBER

“Israeli meteorologists tracked December weather patterns
for many years and concluded that the climate in Israel
has been essentially constant for at least the last 2,000
years… “broadly speaking, weather phenomena
and climatic conditions as pictured in the Bible
correspond with conditions as observed today”
-The Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible
(R.B.Y. Scott, Vol. 3, Abingdon Press, Nashville,
  1962, p. 625).

“The temperature in the area of Bethlehem
in December….can drop to well below freezing,
especially at night.
   Describing the weather there,
Sara Ruhin,  chief of the Israeli weather service,
noted in a 1990 press release that the area has
three months of frost:and in December with 29 F.”

Snow is common for two or three days in Jerusalem
and nearby Bethlehem in December and January.
These were the winter months of increased precipitation
in Christ’s time, when the roads became practically
unusable and people stayed mostly indoors.

A common practice of shepherds was keeping their
flocks in the field from April to October,
but in the cold and rainy winter months – they
took their flocks back home and sheltered them.

“as these shepherds had not yet brought home their flocks,
it is a presumptive argument that October had not yet
commenced(begun), and that, consequently, our Lord
was NOT  born on the 25th of December, when no flocks
were out in the fields;
nor could He have been born
later than September,
as the flocks were still in the
fields by night. On this very ground the nativity in
December should be given up.  The feeding of the
flocks by night in the fields is a chronological fact,
which casts considerable light upon this disputed point”
– (Adam Clarke’s Commentary,
Abingdon Press, Nashville,
      note on Luke 2:8).

SCHOLARS AGREE  —

CHRIST  WAS NOT BORN IN DECEMBER

“These humble pastoral folk are out in the field at night
with their flock – a feature of the story which would
argue against the birth of Christ occurring on Dec. 25
since
the weather would not have permitted it”
– (The Interpreter’s One-Volume Commentary,
Abingdon Press, Nashville, 1971, note on Luke 2:4-7).

“Shepherds and their flocks would not be found
“abiding” (Gr. agrauleo) in the open fields at night
in December (Tebeth), for the paramount reason
that there would be no pasturage at that time.
It was the custom then (as now) to withdraw the flocks
during the month Marchesven Oct.-Nov.) from the open
districts and house them for the winter.”
– The Companion Bible, Appendix 179

“The temperature in the area of Bethlehem in
December averages around 44 degrees Fahrenheit
but can drop to well below freezing, especially
at night. That area has three months of frost:
December with 29 degrees Fahrenheit.”
-Sara Ruhin,
chief of the Israeli weather service,
a 1990 press release

Evidence of the harsh nature of the weather
in the Middle East in December can be found
in recent history.

(Time Magazine, Jan. 11, 1993, pp. 10-22).
“The news reports in Israel at the time were
filled with pictures of men huddling around
campfires and tents covered with snow.”
There would have been similar weather conditions
in Bethlehem in December – in the year of our
Savior’s birth. Clearly, Jesus was NOT born
in December.

“BETHLEHEM, West Bank, Dec. 24, 2004(AP)-
Several thousand pilgrims celebrated Christmas
Eve in the traditional birthplace of Jesus on Friday.
Many of Friday’s visitors were local Palestinians,
and in a cold, bitter rain, shopkeepers lamented
that business remained in the doldrums.”

“December – At that time it is cold,

-(noted commentator, Albert Barnes

“The climate of Palestine…the cold of the night,
from December to February, is very piercing,
and it was NOT the custom for the shepherds
of Judea to watch their flocks in the open fields
later than about the end of October.”
-(Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylons,
          1959, p. 91).

“Jesus was probably not born in the winter,
because shepherds were watching their flocks
by night”. Shepherds only watch their flocks
by night when it is comfortable outside.
And I can verify that it is cold in Bethlehem
in December.”
-December 14, 2001
“Bethlehem Christmas History; Bethlehem Past

author of “I am a Palestinian Christian”

“November through early March is “winter” in Israel!
The weather gets cold, especially at night.
Often it rains–or even snows! Yet many arrive
in Israel carrying luggage bulging with summer
attire, reasoning that it is always hot and arid
in the Middle East. So they hurriedly purchase
coats and sweaters in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem so
they can make their pilgrimage down to Bethlehem.”
-Jesus Birth; The Untold Story

“It’s very cold around Bethlehem
in the wintertime, especially at night,
and shepherds would NOT be out tending
to their flocks in December.”
-Enrique Nardoni,
professor of theology
at the University of Dallas

JESUS WAS BORN DURING THE CENSUS
MARY AND JOSEPH TRAVEL FOR THE CENSUS

Other evidence – against a December birth
is the Roman census recorded by Luke.

“And it came to pass in those days that a decree
went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world
should be registered… So all went to be registered,
everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee,
out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of
David, which is called Bethlehem…, to be registered
with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.
So it was, that while they were there, the days were
completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth
her firstborn Son…” (Luke 2:1-7).

The Roman and Judean rulers knew that taking a census
in winter would have been impractical and unpopular.
Generally a census would take place after the harvest
season, around September or October, when the weather was
good and the roads were still dry enough to allow easy travel.

This census “could hardly have been at that season
[December 25], however, for such a time would surely NOT
have been chosen by the authorities for a public enrollment,
which necessitated the population’s traveling from all parts
to their natal districts, bitter cold, snow storms and rain –
making journeys both unsafe and unpleasant in winter…”
– (“Christmas at Bethlehem,” Holy-Days and Holidays;
         Cunningham Geikie).

Did God Want us to celebrate Christ’s Birth ?
Evidently – NOT.
Why ?  How do we Know that ?

If the date of Jesus’ Birth were important
then God would have had it recorded.

Many events int he bible are recorded as to
month and day and even the year of what King
was reighning.  The fact that Jesus exact month
and day of birth are never mentioned in the Bible,
gives us clear indication that God did not want
us to celebrate Christ’s Birth.

“God has concealed the time of Jesus’ birth.
There is no way to ascertain it. Nor was it
of consequence to know the time; if it had been,
God would have preserved the record of it.
Matters of moment are clearly revealed.
Those which God regards as of no importance
-Albert Barnes
(Barnes’ Notes on the New Testament, Vol. 1,
Kregel Publications, 1962, p. 189).

Christmas has NOT  been authorized
by God or by Christ

“Christmas is a religious holiday
which has not been sanctioned by
the authority of Christ.”
-Christmas
By Darren E. Mays
and Michael B. Willey

Jesus said – “On judgment day…
I will reply, `I never knew you.
Go away; the things you did
were unauthorized.‘ “
(Matthew 7:22,23)(NLT)-BibleGateway

“….Christmas.  We find no Scriptural
warrant whatever for observing any day
as the birthday of the Savior; and,
consequently, its observance is a superstition,
because it is NOT of divine authority.”
-(Charles Spurgeon,
Sermon on Dec. 24, 1871).

Did the Early Christians Celebrate Christ’s  Birth ?
NO !

“The truth is that, early on, Christians did not
celebrate Christ’s birth; it was His death and
resurrection that were supremely important.”
– Was Christ Really Born on Christmas?
      By Lorelei Nettles

“On your day of pagan gladness, we [Christians]
Neither cover our doorposts with wreaths…
You consider it a proper thing to decorate your
house like some new brothel…but we do not
celebrate along with you the holidays…”
-(Tertullian, (A.D. 155-220), 2001, p. 1176).
(quoted by David Bercot,
A Dictionary of Early Christian Beliefs,
 1998, p. 342).

“Christmas was NOT a feast of the early
Christian church.  In fact the observance
of birthdays was condemned as a heathen custom
repugnant to all Christians,”
– The American Book of Days,
   George W. Douglas, p. 658.

Was December 25th – A Holiday
when Christ walked the Earth ?

Yes, the pagan Saturnalia was in Full
Swing – when Christ was on Earth.

“Early Christians were familiar with
various pagan celebrations that occurred
in December (but they did not participate).”
-Christmas
By Darren E. Mays and Michael B. Willey

December 25th was observed as a Holiday
long before Christ was born.  In fact,
while Christ was still on the earth, both
he and his early followers were witness to
the Joyous merry-making of the Roman Saturnalia,
that occured every December.  It is certain
that Jesus and his Apostles were able to see,
the gift-giving, the feasting, ane the decorating
of fir trees, during the Pagan Holidays of Rome.
The houses were decorated with Holly, Mistletoe,
and evergreen wreaths, on the very day that
mankind now claims is in honor of Christ.
Yet this was the pagan Saturnalia of Rome during
the celebration of the sun-god “Sol”.

Historians of that period of time – said that
neither Christ, nor his followers would taint
themselves with these superstitious celebrations.

DECEMBER 25TH – A COMPROMISE WITH HEATHENS

“The important fact then which I have asked you to get
clearly into your head is that the fixing of the date
as December 25th was a compromise with paganism.”
– The Evolution of Christmas; Published in 1909

“December 25th was the day the Romans
celebrated the birth of their (pagan) sun-god.”
-The Encyclopedia Americana,
      vol. 6, pg. 623.

“to facilitate the acceptance of the faith by the pagan
masses, the Church of Rome found it convenient
to institute the 25th of December as the feast
of the birth of Christ…from the pagan feast,
celebrated on the same day in
honor of the pagan god,
Mithras…”
-(Manual of Liturgical History, 1955, Vol. 2, p. 67).

“In the Scriptures, no one is recorded to have kept a feast
or held a great banquet on his birthday.
It is only sinners
who make great rejoicings over the day in which they were
born into this world”
– (Catholic Encyclopedia, 1908 edition,
     Vol. 3, p. 724, “Natal Day”).

“…the day of one’s death is better
than the day of one’s birth.
The end of a matter is better
than its beginning…”

Celebrating Christmas is Breaking the 1st Commandment!

TEN COMMANDMENTS EVIL CHRISTMAS PAGAN GODS

Celebrating  Christmas  is
Breaking the 1st Commandment

By adopting Christmas from the various pagan
gods of the world – we are breaking the very
First of the ten commandments.  Numerous sun gods
were supposedly born on December 25th.

Sadly, even in professing Christianity,
many pagan customs persist. For example,
the celebrations of Easter and Christmas
are really pagan holidays! The name “Easter”
comes from the Babylonian fertility goddess
Ishtar. And Christmas was taken from
the pagan Roman celebrations of Saturnalia
and Brumalia (December 25), which honored
the rebirth of the sun god.

Many think that it’s okay to follow these
practices if they are done to worship God.
But the true God will not accept such pagan
worship even if it is intended to honor Him
(cf. Deut. 12:29-32).

Christ said that when we follow tradition
in our worship instead of God’s commandments,
then our worship is IN VAIN (Mark 7:7-9).
God, himself, declared in the First Commandment
that we should have “no other gods” before Him.

The Ten Commandments are listed
in a particular order. The first commandment
is of major importance and is placed first.
It would be difficult to obey the other nine
commandments while breaking the first.

The Ten Commandments are found in Exodus 20
and Deuteronomy 5. The first four of these
commandments tell us how to love and honor God.
The last six teach us how to love and respect
our fellow man.

The very first commandment is from God himself,
where he tells us – “Thou shalt have no other gods
before me” (Ex. 20:2-3).

The pagan holiday of sun god worship was already
active in the days of Christ.  The general pagan
populace was celebrating the birth of the sun gods
on December 25th.  They were using Fir trees, ornaments,
gift giving, the lighting of candles, holly and evergreen
decorations on their homes, and singing carols.
Yet, Jesus condemned their traditions and said
the following, “Thus you have made the commandment
of God – of none effect- because of your tradition.”
 (Matt. 15:4-6).

As in the days of Christ, the majority of mankind
follows the traditions of men in their worship of God!

False gods can be placed ahead of Almighty God
in any number of ways.  The celebrating of any
holiday that originally came from pagan god worship,
is an example of this.

Breaking the  First Commandment
With the Many gods of Christmas

THE FIRST OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ON STONE

Breaking the Very First of
The “Ten Commandments”
With the Many gods of Christmas

“And God spake all these words, saying,
I am Jehovah thy God……Thou shalt have
no other gods before me.”
(Exodus 20:1-3)(ASV)-BibleGateway

“I am Jehovah your God….You must not
have any other gods against my face.”
(Exodus 20:2,3)(NWT)

There are three versions of the Ten Commandments
in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament). They are
at Exodus 20:2-17, Exodus 34:12-26, and Deuteronomy
(Deut)5:6-21.

The Exodus 20 version: is the most commonly used
set of Commandments.

“In the first place, the Ten Commandments
and they alone of all the laws which God gave
unto Israel, were promulgated by the voice of God,
amid the most solemn manifestations and tokens of
the Divine presence. Second, the Ten Commandments
and they alone of all Jehovah’s statutes to Israel,
were written directly by the finger of God,
written upon tables of stone, and written thus
to denote their lasting and imperishable nature.”
-THE LIFE OF FAITH; Chapter 6
  The Ten Commandments
   by Arthur W Pink

“The “law of God” expresses the mind of
the Creator, and is binding upon all rational
creatures. It is God’s unchanging moral standard
for regulating the conduct of all men. Obedience
to the law of God is man’s first duty.”
-THE LIFE OF FAITH; Chapter 6
  The Ten Commandments
   by Arthur W Pink

“The Ten Commandments represent God’s own
summary of our duties toward Him.  How valuable
to have God lay out His instructions in a space
of only 17 verses.  But how difficult it proves
to obey them, when our hearts have gone astray!”
– The Greatest Commandment:
The Very Heart of the Matter
by Vern Sheridan Poythress

By adopting Christmas from the various pagan
gods of the world – we are breaking the very
First of the ten commandments.

How So ?

When God said: “You shall have no other gods
before Me” (Exodus 20:3), He condemns forms of
worship that celebrated the supposed birth of
the sun gods or false gods. When God states:
“You shall not make for yourself an idol…
You shall not bow down to them or worship them…”
(Exodus 20:4, New International Version), He also
condemns inventing religious feasts and celebrations
to replace those that God ordained.

“They moved him to jealousy with strange gods;
With abominations provoked they him to anger.
They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God;
They have provoked me to anger with their vanities.”
(Deteronomy 32:16,32)(ASV)-BibleGateway

The “FIRST” of the Ten Commandments

BREAKING THE FIRST COMMANDMENT BY ADOPTING PAGAN PRACTICES SUCH AS CHRISTMAS
“Take heed to yourself that you are not
ensnared to follow them…and that you do not
inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did
these nations serve their gods? I also will
do likewise.’ You shall not worship the LORD
your God in that way; for every abomination
to the LORD which He hates they have done
to their gods…Whatever I command you,
be careful to observe it; you shall not
add to it nor take away from it.”
(Deuteronomy 12:30-32).

introduce pagan….practices;
And I’ll punish all who import
pagan superstitions….”

to the Devil, but to the praise of God…
For from obdurate minds it is impossible
to cut off everything at once…'”

  by William Sansom

“Pope Gregory…advised Saint Augustine
to allow his converts certain festivals….
as formerly they had done this in honor
of “the devil”
(therefore) St. Augustine…
permitted their usual December celebration

Father Ice/Grandfather Frost (Russian winter god),
Thor (Norse sky god who rides the sky in a chariot

All-Father who rides the sky on an eight-legged
horse), Frey (Norse fertility god), & the Tomte
(a Norse Land Spirit known for giving gifts to
children at this time of year). Santa’s reindeer
can be viewed as forms of Herne, the Celtic Horned
God.”

“The “winter solstice (December) was the time

and Mithra had celebrated their (birthdays) –

“Someone recently said that he wished people
would get back to the true meaning of Christmas.
I wondered if he really believed this,
because the “true meaning” of Christmas is
rooted in Pagan beliefs. Christmas, as well
as Easter and Halloween, are Pagan holidays.
If we were to get back to the real meaning
of these holidays, we would be worshiping
Pagan gods. I wonder if most religious people
are aware of this?”

DECEMBER 25th – The Birth of a “sun-god”

BABY JESUS COLLAGE

DECEMBER 25th
The Birth of a “sun-god”

The First man to declare himself a god, was Nimrod.
His mother, Semiramis, declared herself to be “The
Mother of god”.  Together with their son, Tammuz,
they replaced the worship of Jehovah God, with a
Triune – “trinity” mystery god.  Since Tammuz married
his own mother – he was both – “God – the Father” and
“God – the son”.

When the peoples language was confused in Babel,
they took with them the religion of Nimrod and spread
it all over the earth.

Every pagan god, and every pagan goddess has received
some aspect of Nimrod, and Semiramis worship and devotion.
All the pagan sun-gods of the world claim to have been
born on Decmeber 25th.  How appropriate that they even
copied the birthdate of the First man to oppose Jehovah
God.

Paganism is filled with sumbolism.  If you do a careful
search on Sun Worship – you will learn what these synbols
and teachings are.

When you honor and adore the “Baby Jesus” on December 25th,
you have been duped into giving the pagan sun-gods of the
world – honor, attention, and worship – without even
knowing it.  This has been going on for years.  But now
that we live in an age where data is everywhere at our
fingertips – these Deceptions are being unearthed and
exposed for what they truly are – a trick of the Devil,
to take worship away from Jehovah God and direct it at
his own seed.

The “Halo” or “Nimbus” in “sun-god” worship

“the symbolism of the nimbus or halo was early in use
among the pagans who determined its form. In the monuments
of Hellenic and Roman art, the heads of the gods,
heroes, and other distinguished persons are often found
with a disc-shaped halo, a circle of light, or a rayed-
fillet. They are, therefore, associated especially with
gods and creatures such as the Phoenix. The disc of light
is likewise used in the Pompeian wall paintings to typify gods
and demigods only. The custom of the Egyptian and
Syrian kings of having themselves represented with a rayed
crown to indicate the status of demigods, spread
throughout the East and the West. In Rome the halo was
first used only for deceased emperors as a sign of
celestial bliss, but afterwards living rulers also were
given the rayed crown.”

The native peoples of North and South America
widely practiced sun worship, as did their Asian

by the people of the Middle East. The Europeans too
were deeply involved in sun worship, and many of
their sun-god festivals were carried over when
they professed conversion to Christianity.

Pagan sun-gods are born on December 25th
A Compromise and Deception of Christendom

CHRISTMAS SUN GOD WORSHIP

“December 25….a festival was celebrated among the
heathen, at that precise time of the year, in honour of
the birth of the son of the Babylonian queen of heaven
…the sun-god Nimrod…the same festival was adopted
by the Roman Church, giving it the name of Christ.”
–The Two Babylons
   Alexander Hislop

“December 25th – Instead of this day being the time
of our Saviour’s birth, it was the very day and season
on which the pagans for centuries had celebrated the
birth of the Sun-god. A study into this shows how far
apostate church leaders went in their effort to merge
Christianity and paganism into one apostate religion –
even to placing the birth of Christ on a date to harmonize
with the pagan birthday celebration of the sun-god.
It was in the FIFTH Century that the Roman Catholic
Church commanded that the birth of Christ be observed
forever on December 25 – the day of the old Roman feast
of the birth of Sol (one of the names of the sun-god).
— [Encyclopedia Americana, Vol. 6, p.623]

“The winter solstice (Dec 25) was the time
at which all the sun-gods from Osiris to Jupiter
and Mithra had celebrated their (birthdays),
the celebration being adorned with the pine tree of
Adonis, the Holy of Saturn, and the Mistletoe tappers
represented the kindling of the newborn sun-god’s
fire…”
–[Man and His Gods, p.2013].

Jesus Was Born in a WARM Month

Jesus’ public ministry lasted for three and a half years
(Dan. 9:27). It came to an end at the time of Passover
(John 18:39). which was in the spring. Therefore, he
began his ministry in the fall. Jesus began his ministry
at about the age of 30 (Luke 3:23). This was the
recognized age for a priest before he could become an
official minister under the Old Testament (Num. 4:3).
Therefore his birth must have been in the fall.

“In Palestine, winter winds are very penetrating
from the middle of December to the middle of February.
Snow and hail, during most winters, fall on the hills.
The Hebrew month Tebeth (December and January) is the
coldest month; rain, hail and snow on higher hills,
and occasionally at Jerusalem.”
–(Ungers Bible Dictionary, p. 1170)

“It was an ancient custom among the Jews of those days
to send their sheep to the fields and deserts about
Passover (early spring)and
bring them home at
commencement of the first rain…
During the time they were out, the shepherds watched them
night and day, as… the first rains began early
in the month of Marchesvan, which answers to part of our
October… we find that
the sheep were kept out
in the open country during the whole summer,

and as these shepherds had not yet brought home their flocks,
it is a presumptive argument that
October had not yet
commenced(begun)
, and consequently,
our Lord was not born
on the 25th of December,
when no flocks were out in the
fields by night. On this very ground, the nativity in December
should be given up.”
– Adam Clark Commentary, Volume 5, page 347

It is evident that Jesus was not born
during the middle of winter
, for at the time of his birth,
the shepherds were living out in the fields with their
flocks. As the bible says: ‘There were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their
flock by night” (Luke 2:8).
As is well known, the shepherds
in Palestine do not “abide in the fields” during
the winter season because of the extreme, cold
temperatures
The shepherds always bring their flocks
in from the mountain slopes and fields
no later than
October 15th! “
– Mede’s Works, 1679. Discourse xlvii

“These humble pastoral folk are out in the field at night
with their flock – a feature of the story which would
argue against the birth of Christ occurring on Dec. 25
since
the weather would not have permitted it”
– (The Interpreter’s One-Volume Commentary,
Abingdon Press, Nashville, 1971, note on Luke 2:4-7).

“Shepherds and their flocks would not be found
“abiding” (Gr. agrauleo) in the open fields at night
in December (Tebeth), for the paramount reason
that there would be no pasturage at that time.
It was the custom then (as now) to withdraw the flocks
during the month Marchesven Oct.-Nov.) from the open districts
and house them for the winter.”

The “Nimrod” Tree – “NIMROD” – The LORD of Christmas

XMAS TREE NIMROD 2

The “Nimrod” Tree
“NIMROD” – The LORD of Christmas

“Nimrod started the great organized worldly apostasy
from God that has dominated this world until now.
Nimrod married his own mother, whose name was Semiramis.
After Nimrod’s death, his so-called mother-wife,
Semiramis, propagated the evil doctrine of the survival
of Nimrod as a spirit being. She claimed a full-grown
evergreen tree sprang overnight from a dead tree stump,
which symbolized the springing forth unto new life
of the dead Nimrod. On each anniversary of his birth,
she claimed, Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree
and leave gifts upon it. December 25th, was the birthday
of Nimrod. This is the real origin of the Christmas tree.”
-The Plain Truth About Christmas
by David J. Stewart | December 24th, 2005

“Traditionally, a yule log was burned in the fireplace
on Christmas Eve and during the night as the log’s embers
died, there appeared in the room, as if by magic, a
Christmas tree surrounded by gifts. The yule log
represented the sun-god Nimrod and the Christmas tree
represented himself resurrected as his own son Tammuz.”
–After Armageddon -Chapter 4
Where do we get our ideas?
by John A. Sarkett

“So our Christmas tree — and our yule log — have
tremendous meaning, but not a Christian meaning.
The yule log is the dead Nimrod, human ruler of
ancient Babylon, who was eventually deified as the
sun incarnate, and hence a god. The Christmas tree
is mystical Tammuz, the slain god come to life again.”
–After Armageddon -Chapter 4

The Real Origin of Christmas

“The real origin of Christmas goes back to ancient
Babylon. It is bound up in the organized apostasy
with which Satan has gripped a deceived world these
many centuries! In Egypt, it was always believed that
the son of Iris (Egyptian name for “Queen of Heaven”)
was born December 25th. Semiramis also bore the title
“Queen of Heaven” – and she was Nimrod’s mother.
Paganism celebrated this famous birthday over most
of the known world for centuries before the birth
of Christ.”

A Deception of Satan

“Jesus Christ was NOT born on December 25.
But December 25th can be traced back to Genesis
and a man named Nimrod. Nimrod was the founder
of a great false religious system that began in
ancient Babylon that has always opposed the truths
of God. It’s time we face facts! This world is deceived,
just as God prophesied it would be (Rev. 12:9).
Satan is the power behind this deception.
Satan has successfully pawned off the old customs
of the Babylonian mystery religion as being pleasing
to Jesus Christ.”

“Nimrod was a great grandson of Noah.
Nimrod became a “mighty tyrant in the face of Jehovah.”
Much of the Babylonian worship was carried on through
mysterious symbols – thus the “Mystery” religion.
This system of idolatry spread from Babylon to the
nations, for it was from this location that men were

As they went from Babylon, they took their occult

Christendom will not admit, that by compromising with the pagans of

How so ?

Almost all the pagan gods – who are nothing more than “Nimrod” reincarnated,
all claim December 25th as their birthday.  The list is exhaustive.

In Sharp Contrast to Jesus

And here we have Jesus Christ who was born in a warm month when the
flocks were still outdoors at night – as ample proof that a compromise has been
made.   December 25th was celebrated by the pagans in Christ’s day, but
he and his early followers would have NO PART of it.

It is evident that Jesus was NOT born during the middle of winter
for at the time of his birth, the shepherds were living out in the fields
with their flocks. As the bible says: ‘There were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night”
(Luke 2:8).
As is well known, the shepherds in Palestine do NOT

“The wine of old Babylon’s fornication was a debauching
system of idol worship and carnal self-exaltation, over

It was already bottled and labelled before the first

It went with that dispersion into every country and nation
under heaven. As a matter of fact, we find it to this day
among all the nations of the earth, affecting and controlling
their thinking, their policies, their faith, and their worship.
Not less than two-thirds of the population of the earth

Who Are We Honoring on December 25th?

NIMROD IS THE LORD OF CHRISTMAS BORN ON DECEMBER 25

Who Are You Honoring
on December 25th ?

The “LORD” that you give honor to each year on
December 25th – is NOT the one that you think you
are honoring.  Jesus was born in a warm month,
when the shepherds were still sleeping out in the
fields with their flock in the night. Jesus was not
born in the cold rainy month of December.

His birth date was obscured because God
commands us to observe Jesus death and NOT
his birth.

Then whose Birth is the world honoring
on December 25 ?

None other than the First Human
to Oppose Jehovah God.

And Who was that ?

NIMROD –

“Nimrod’s rebellion was to head a great confederacy
in open revolt against God. This confederacy is described
in Genesis eleven and that it was an organized revolt
against Jehovah God is very clear. From this point
onward – Babylon in Scripture always stands for that
which is in opposition to God “

Nimrod And The Tower Of Babel
by Author W. Pink

“Long before the Christian Era itself,
A Festival was celebrated among the heathen.
At that precise time of the year (December 25),
in honor of the birth of NIMROD, the son of
the Babylonian “Queen of Heaven”. This same
festival was adopted by the Roman Church,
giving it the name of Christ.”
–The Two Babylons; p. 92-93
by Alexander Hislop

“The Chaldea paraphrase of this verse says,
“Cush begat Nimrod who began to prevail in wickedness
for he slew innocent blood and rebelled against Jehovah“.

Nimrod, the King of Babylon,
builder of the tower of Babel
by Arthur W. Pink

Nimrod was born on December 25th.  When he died,
he was represented by a “Yule” Log.  The Dead remains
of this once Grand tree-god, was thrown into the
“Fireplace”.  Each year, on the date of his birth,
a “New” evergreen tree suddenly appeared with presents
and trinkets upon it.  Even the ancient woodcut above,
reveals the symbols of “Ancient Babylon” and its founder,
Nimrod.

Nimrod and the “Yule” Log
Nimrod and the “Christmas Tree”

In the picture below – notice Nimrod (on the left)
holding a Rheindeer in one arm and the “Yule” Tree
in his hand.    This is similar to a modern day depiction
of Santa Claus of Christendom.

 The Nimrod Deception

The Nimrod Deception is Satan’s Deception

The Nimrod deception has been spread to and retained in
all parts of the world – over all centuries – even today.
The Norse gods, the Egyptian gods, the Roman gods, etc., etc.,
have all retained different aspects of Nimrod, his mother, and their
rebellion against Jehovah God.

“So in Christmas, we have Satan counterfeiting
the real truth of God. The yule log and Christmas tree. .
All may be traced to ancient Babylon and the Mysteries
of Nimrod, Semiramis and Tammuz — Satan’s incredibly
clever counterfeit…”
–After Armageddon -Chapter 4
Where do we get our ideas?
by John A. Sarkett

“As these practices came down from Babylon to Egypt,
Greece and Rome, they took on different names. But the
practices remained the same. December 25th was claimed
to be the birthday of the chief gods from Babylon to Rome,
regardless of their different names. The original
Babylonian festival started when Semiramis, the wife
of Nimrod, claimed that overnight, an evergreen tree
sprang up from a dead tree stump beside his grave.
The dead stump supposedly symbolized her dead husband
Nimrod. The new evergreen tree was Nimrod come to life
again in the person of the god Tammuz. The stump or
Yule log, represented the dead stock of Nimrod and the
Christmas tree was Nimrod revived deified as the Sun
god or the ‘son of the Sun.'”

Nimrod Worship

“The Babylonian pagan worship of Nimrod,
Semiramis, and the god-incarnate son
extended throughout the entire world
and eventually assumed the name of
Trinitarian Christianity.”
– The Two Babylons, pp. 240-252.

Nimrod pleased Satan by opposing Jehovah
God, and he was well rewarded by Satan.

Nimrod Rewarded by Satan

How was Nimrod rewarded by Satan ?

Thousands of Years of Worldwide Worship

Nimrod and his mother have been worshipped from the
time of their rebellion against God, right down to
this very day.  Not only that, but they have been
worshipped and honored in every single country on
the face of the earth.

All the trimmings and trappings of Christmas have
come down to us, through the trickery of Satan, and
in a deception only known to those who study history
and research the scriptures as well.

Nimrod in Disguise

Nimrod has been honored in many different disguises.
The trinity worship of He and his son, and of his
Madonna mother (Queen of Heaven) have been found in
all religious cultures around the world – both pagan
and Christendom.  From Babylon to Egypt and then to
Rome, onto Roman Catholicism and then onto her daughters-
present day Protestantism.

This article is only focusing on the Christmas aspect
of Satan’s deception.  Links at the bottom will take
you to other deceptions which also give honor to
Nimrod and his Deified family.

The “Holy” Mother and Child ?

“December 25 is when the birth of the son of the
Babylonian queen of heaven was celebrated 2,000 years
before Jesus was born. The name of the day itself —
“Yule” — is the Chaldean (Babylon) name for “infant”
or “little child,” the pagan counterpart… In ancient
Babylon (Nimrod)…the “divine” child. There is obviously
no connection with the birth of Christ.”

You are the Victim
of A Four Thousand Year
Old Deception

And you my friend, are the victim of this
Demonic Deception.  You give honor each
year to a man that put himself in place of God.
You painstakingly observe each and every
detail of a scam that was put in place almost
four thousand years ago.

How Satan must laugh and giggle – “HO – Ho – Ho”
at the stupid humans that have willingly
stepped into his “Trap” of deception.

“In these plays, the devil’s common entry line,
known as the “devil’s bluster,” was “Ho! Ho! Ho!”

“Where do we get our ideas?
Where do we get our religions?
The source is that first world empire,
ancient Babylon:  The Babylonian system
of idolatrous worship was established by
a historical personage by the name of
Semiramis, queen of Babylon, wife of Nimrod,
only a few centuries after the Flood, about
the year  2000 B.C. Babylon was to become
the foremost state of that day, and prevail
until approximately 539 B.C.

But the real God Jehovah was unknown
in that land.  Instead, the Satan-inspired
“Mysteries” were established, the chief
features of which included: worshipping
of the mother- and divine child. (Nimrod
and Semiramis).”

A “Satanic” Deception

Christmas is a well-laid trap
In celebrating it, the people of the land
honor, worship, and glorify a god,
but NOT the God of the Bible. It is
appealing and attractive with all the
ornamentation and catchy music.
Nevertheless, it is a trap because
it is not true.”

The Really Sad Part

The really sad part about all this Foolishness –
is that most people, whether Christian or pagan –
do not care, even when they have learned
about the trap they are in.  They Like it.
They prefer it……

The Churches don’t Care

 Christendom Joins
“Babylon The Great”

How ?

“Nimrod was Noah’s great-grandson.
This system at Babel became the source of all
false religion in the world. Apostate Christendom
has a direct line of succession back through Roman
and Greek paganism right to Babel, because Roman and
Greek paganism, it is plain to see, came out of Babel.
Their gods are just renamed gods from older cultures
which take you back to Babel. Of course, we know from
history that the Roman Catholic Church came in as a
mixture of paganism and Christianity through
Constantine’s desire to unite his empire with one
unified religious system.”

built Babel, which was the beginning of Babylon.
The Babylonian spirit is invading the world.
Its influence is breathtaking…and spreading its

description of Babel and the evil intent of this
first expression of false religion.”

These practices infiltrated and overcame the

dominated by Rome itself.”

CHRISTMAS AND “BABYLON THE GREAT”

DECEMBER 25 NIMROD

CHRISTMAS
AND  “BABYLON  THE  GREAT”

What is the Connection ?

The Bible identifies False Religion as a woman
called “Babylon The Great”. Her religious doctrines,
teachings, beliefs and Holidays are based upon
the Center from which all False Religion began,
“Ancient Babylon”.  It was under the influence of
NIMROD – who declared himself to be god – that
all these false teachings began.  For he was a
mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah God, our
Creator.

“…Nim´rod….He displayed himself
a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah….”
(Genesis 10:8,9)(NWT)

“…Nimrod….He was a mighty hunter
before Jehovah…”
(Genesis 10:8,9)(ASV)-BibleGateway

“Now it was Nimrod who excited them
to such an affront and contempt of God.”
-Josephus (c. 37 – c. 100 AD/CE),

“His name is Nimrod, It means ‘the rebel,’
and is evidently meant to designate the nature
of the man. He was the first specimen of giant
tyranny after the flood. His Defiance of Jehovah
was perpetrated in wickedness and ambition under
the very eye of Jehovah. Nimrod’s assumptions were
religious as well as political. Nimrod presented
himself not only for obedience but also for worship.
His awful greatness was of ambitious rebellion,
apostasy and defiance of Jehovah. And as it was Babel
that was the beginning of his empire, so is ‘Babylon the great’
its consummation and close.”
-Nimrod
by Horatius Bonar
1808-1889

“As the people increased in number,
the Way of Jehovah was corrupted
and a principal figure in those days was Nimrod,
the grandson of Ham described as a mighty hunter
before Jehovah. The word ‘before’ used in this
sense means, ‘totally antagonistic to Jehovah.’
We celebrate Christmas on a date which coincides
with the birthday of Nimrod – the villainous king
of ancient Babylon.”

Amont those false teachings that are part of
“Babylon The Great” – are the “trinity” doctrine,
Hellfire torment, Easter, and Christmas.

This article is focusing upon the Christmas Holiday
and it’s Nimrod-connection.  Indeed, even scholars
recognize that Christmas came from Ancient Babylon,
and has no connection with the Birth of Christ who
was born during a much warmer season.

Scholars Identify “Babylon The Great”
with CHRISTMAS

“Nimrod started the great organized worldly apostasy
from God that has dominated this world until now.
Nimrod married his own mother, whose name was Semiramis.
After Nimrod’s death, his so-called mother-wife,
Semiramis, propagated the evil doctrine of the survival
of Nimrod as a spirit being. She claimed a full-grown
evergreen tree sprang overnight from a dead tree stump,
which symbolized the springing forth unto new life
of the dead Nimrod. On each anniversary of his birth,
she claimed, Nimrod would visit the evergreen tree
and leave gifts upon it. December 25th, was the birthday
of Nimrod. This is the real origin of the Christmas tree.”
-The Plain Truth About Christmas
by David J. Stewart | December 24th, 2005

Paganism celebrated this famous birthday over most
of the known world for centuries before the birth
of Christ.”

“The Roman Pagans used to celebrate the birthday
of their child-god on 25th December, and the Roman
Catholic Church sought to win over as many people
as possible to nominal Catholicism by proclaiming
the same day to be the birthday of Jesus. So the
Pagans had no difficulty worshipping the Catholic
Madonna and child. They were seen as yet another
manifestation of the Babylonian Queen of Heaven
(Semiramis)and her son (Nimrod). The Pagans made
no compromises, they didn’t need to, they just
continued their Pagan worship within the church.”
-The True Meaning of Christmas
by Mike Gascoigne; 1996

“While it’s easy to knock the Catholic Church
because of their Maryolatry, the Protestants cannot
be left off the hook. The Protestant Reformation
dispensed with only a part of the Babylonian system
of worship. The celebration of Christmas, inherited
from the Roman Catholic Church, via Pagan Rome,
via Egypt, via Babylon, is still practiced as the
most important event in the Protestant Christian
calendar, so from that point of view the Protestants
are as much into Paganism as the Catholics.”
-The True Meaning of Christmas
by Mike Gascoigne; 1996

“The Christmas tree is specifically a Babylonian symbol.
On Christmas Eve the Yule Log is thrown onto the fire.
On Christmas Day there is the tree, covered in
decorations and surrounded with presents,
representing the resurrected Nimrod of Babylon.”

“Christmas as a pagan holiday traces back
thousands of years to a man named Nimrod,

The Bible refers to it as the religion of

Babylon’s false worship is found today in some
aspect in nearly all religions, including
christendom.”

“Jesus Christ was NOT born on December 25.
But December 25th can be traced back to Genesis
and a man named Nimrod. Nimrod was the founder
of a great false religious system that began in
ancient Babylon that has always opposed the truths
of God. It’s time we face facts! This world is
deceived, just as God prophesied it would be
(Rev. 12:9). Satan is the power behind this deception.
Satan has successfully pawned off the old customs
of the Babylonian mystery religion as being pleasing
to Jesus Christ.”

In chapter 17 we are told that Jesus Christ

“Can there be any doubt what Jesus Christ thinks
of this church? Every inhabitant of Earth has been
made to suffer to one degree or another by the
deceptions created by its “abominations.”
Revelation 18:4 carries this plea: “And I heard
another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her,
my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins,
and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
Right now, God is sending out that same warning message
to all who will listen: Come out of all these pagan
practices disguised as Christianity. Don’t partake any
longer of those sins. The celebration of Christmas and
its customs is just one of those sins. It seems harmless,
but those who stay in such deception will eventually
have to face the wrath of Jesus Christ.”

“It is no wonder that Jesus said,

for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many there be

and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.“ Popular opinion
should not prevent individuals who know the truth
from turning away from a festival season steeped
in paganism. Jesus said that, in order to be His
disciples, there would be times when we would need
to forsake the desires of our family and friends

“Almost every year, newspapers and magazines
will publish articles pointing out that Christmas
customs originate not from the Bible, but from pagan
antiquity. Most readers, when faced with these facts,
simply say: “I don’t see what difference it makes,”
and continue with their Christmas preparations.
Instead of seeking to put Christ back into Christmas,
we must acknowledge that He was never there
in the first place! Christmas never was Christian!
True Christians will give it back to the pagans.
We ought to take our religious customs and practices
directly from the Bible. Then we will be worshiping
our Creator in spirit and truth, just as He teaches
us to do (John 4:24).”

In Conclusion –

What else can be said about Christmas and
“Babylon the Great” that has not already been
covered by the above secular quotes ?

Many say, “but I do it for my children.”

Others may say, “but I do it for my parents.”

But Listen to what Jesus Says –

Jesus said, “…anyone who loves his son
or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”
(Matthew 10:37b)(NIV)-BibleGateway

“Anyone who loves his father or mother
more than me is not worthy of me….”

and he who loves and takes more pleasure in son
or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.”

CHRISTMAS – How Unlike Christ!

CHRISTMAS IS NOT LIKE CHRIST

Jesus said,
“…Stop turning my Father’s house
into a shopping mall ! ”
(John 2:16)(MSG)-BibleGateway

“it is better to be content with what little you have.
Otherwise, you will always be struggling for more,
and that is like chasing the wind.”
(Ecclesiastes 4:6)(NCV)-BibleGateway

“Those….who buy things
should not be absorbed…by their possessions.
Those who use the things of the world
should not become attached to them.
For this world as we know it will soon
pass away.”
(1Corinthians 7:30,31)(NLT)-BibleGateway

“Christmas” Represents the Opposite
of all that Christ Taught

Christmas is not at all like Christ.
In fact Christmas stands for everything
that Jesus was against.  Jesus emphasized living
a “simple” life.   He made statements showing his
viewpoint about storing up material things.

Jesus was not a collector of treasures.  He neither
gave nor received gifts.  He told people to get rid
of their posessions – and instead to Follow him.

Jesus emphasis was not on trinkets and worldly
goods, but rather on sharing the good news of his
coming Kingdom that would rid the earth of all
problems.  Jesus was spiritually minded – NOT
Materially minded – and he stressed the importance
of his followers being just like him.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING MALL

Jesus said, “Stop making the house of my Father
into a house of merchandise! ”
(John 2:16)(AMP)-BibleGateway

Jesus said, “…Stop turning my Father’s house
into a shopping mall!”
(John 2:16)(MSG)-BibleGateway

Jesus Said –
“Don’t store treasures for yourselves
here on earth…..”
(Matthew 6:19(NCV)-BibleGateway

Jesus said – “Sell all your possessions
and give the money to the poor….
Then come, follow me.”
(Luke 18:22)(NLT)-BibleGateway

“Be careful not to spend your time feasting,
drinking, or worrying about worldly things…”
(Luke 21:34)(NCV)-BibleGateway

“He taught us to give up…our worldly desires.”
(Titus 2:12)(NIV)-BibleGateway

“it is better to be content with what little you have.
Otherwise, you will always be struggling for more,
and that is like chasing the wind.”
(Ecclesiastes 4:6)(NCV)-BibleGateway

“But if we have food and clothing,
we will be content with that.”
(1Timothy 6:8)(NIV)-BibleGateway

“Keep your lives free from
the love of money
and be content with what you have,”
(Hebrews 13:5)(NiV)-BibleGateway

“So if we have enough food and clothing,
let us be content.”
(1Timothy 6:8)(NLT)-BibleGateway

Worldly Possessions
Are Shunned

“For the world offers only a craving
for physical pleasure, a craving for
everything we see, and pride in our
achievements and possessions.
These are not from the Father,
but are from this world.”

Santa Climbing Down A Chimney Clipart Image
Just Like the pagan god, Thor –
Santa comes down thru the chimney
into his element – “the fire”….

Even a child can see the similarities between
Santa Claus and the pagan German god – “Thor”.

THE PAGAN GOD – “THOR”
IS IDENTIFIED AS – ‘SANTA CLAUS’

“It should be noted though, that the figure of
Santa Claus is really a non-Christian one
and is based on the Germanic god Thor
who rode on a chariot drawn by goats named
Cracker and Gnasher.”
– St. Nicholas’ Day; By Shonnie Scarola

Thor was the god of the peasants
and the common people. He was represented
as an elderly man, jovial and friendly,
of heavy build, with a long white beard.
His element was the fire, his color red.
The rumble and roar of thunder were said
to be caused by the rolling of his chariot,
for he alone among the gods never rode on
horseback but drove in a chariot drawn by
two white goats called Cracker and Gnasher.
He was said to live in the ‘Northland’
where he had his palace among icebergs.
The fireplace in every home was especially
sacred to him, and he was said to come down
through the chimney
into his element, the fire.”
– -Francis X. Weiser,
Handbook of Christian Feasts and Customs
(New York: Harcourt, Brace and World, Inc., 1958)

Thor was fighting the giants of ice and snow,
and thus became the Yule-god. He was said to live
in the “Northland” where he had his palace among
icebergs. By our pagan forefathers he was considered
as the cheerful and friendly god, never harming
the humans but rather helping and protecting them.
The fireplace in every home was especially sacred
to him, and he was said to come down through the
chimney into his element, the fire.”
-(Guerber, H.A. Myths of Northern Lands.
New York: American Book Company, 1895, p. 61)

The unusual and common characteristics
of Santa and Thor – are too close to ignore.

  • An elderly man, jovial and friendly and of heavy build.
  • With a long white beard.
  • His element was the fire and his color red.
  • Drove a chariot drawn by two white goats, named
    Cracker and Gnasher.
  • He was the Yule-god. (Yule is Christmas time).
  • He lived in the Northland (North Pole).
  • He was considered the cheerful and friendly god.
    “Ho – Ho – Ho”
  • He was benevolent to humans.
  • The fireplace was especially sacred to him.
  • He came down through the chimney into his element, the fire.

“Swedish children wait eagerly for
a gnome whose sleigh is drawn by
the goats of the thunder god Thor.

With his red suit and cap, and a bulging
sack on his back, he looks much like the
American Santa Claus.”
-(Barth, Edna.
Holly, Reindeer, and Colored Lights,
The Story of the Christmas Symbols.
New York: Clarion Books, 1971, p. 49)

Thor was probably history’s most celebrated
and worshipped pagan god. His widespread
influence is particularly obvious in the
fifth day of the week, which is named after him
– Thursday (a.k.a. Thor’s Day).

“Behind the name Santa Claus actually stands
the figure of the pagan Germanic god Thor.
Here, then, is the true origin of our “Santa Claus.”
-(Weiser, Francis X.
Handbook of Christian Feasts and Customs.
New York: Harcourt, Brace & World, Inc.,
1952, p. 113)

“It was Thor who in the last days of heathenism
was regarded as the chief antagonist of Christ.”
– (Davidson, H.R. Ellis. Scandinavian Mythology.
New York: Peter Bedrick Books, 1982, p. 133)

In case you are not aware, an “antagonist”
is an enemy, adversary or replacement.

The bizarre and mutual attributes of Thor and
Santa are no accident.

Santa’s Trademark is
“Ho – Ho – Ho”  !!!
Santa’s trademark “Ho! Ho! Ho!”.
Most people have no idea where this came from,
and more important whom it came from. . .

“In these plays, the devil’s common entry line,
known as the “devil’s bluster,” was “Ho! Ho! Ho!”
(Siefker, Phyllis.
Santa Claus, Last of the Wild Men:
The Origins and Evolution of Saint Nicholas.
Jefferson: McFarland & Company, Inc., 1997, p. 69)

“Ho, ho, ho! the devil, the devil!
A-comes, a-comes, a-comes upon me…”

The “Holly god” of Christmas

The “Holly god” of Christmas

The Holly god of Christmas
will ride his sled tonight
The Fat Old Elf called Santa
Will Hold the reins so tight

His gallant mystic reindeer
that number sabbats eight
will pull his chariot across the sky
while excited children wait

The chimney is his entrance
into the house we’re told
where Fire is his element
and the sacred hearth beholds

The altar of the pagan
the solstice of dark days
where merriment and presents
are exchanged in votive ways

The many gods of nature
whose birth they commemorate
on the 25th of December
with Festive Food and plate

The Shaman of the winter
is praised around the world
For giving out his presents
to happy boys and girls

The Norse upon the northland
have leprechauns called elves
who hammer out their handy craft
and set them on the shelves

And when the earth is spinning
and the trees are brought inside
to decorate and adorn them
and looked upon with pride

The setting is symbolic
of the gods of ancient lore
and how they were once worshipped
as they had been years before

It’s the holiday of Nimrod
who was the First born King
to deck the halls of Babylon
with bells that we still ring

The Fire god of Hestia
the Fireplace divine
The Flames of Vesta’s memory
is what you’ll often find

Where the stockings will be hanging
waiting for their god
The Thor of Famous legend
will leap with just a nod

We sing the many carols
that tell this ancient Lore
but seldom do we listen
to the story that she bore

The tinsel and the glitter
we place upon the tree
so we can hear the spirits move
like wind upon the breeze

We crown the Tree we worship
with a star or angel breath
We light the electric candles
to show the hidden depth

Of the god who lives within the tree
the evergreen so high
while all the other trees are brown
this one will never die

We bend and place our presents
as we lean upon our knee
as an offering to appease the god
that lives within the tree

The Mistletoe is sacred
to the Druid Celtic priests
and the holly god called Saturn
rejoices with it’s wreath

Some say it is romantic
to gather round the tree
Some love to get engaged they say
on this day of Revery

The couple will be kissing
neath the vine of mistletoe
and few will know the meaning
of the things they do and so

This sacred Feast of Mithra
The Yule of Odin’s path
became the catholic mantra
which we now call The Mass

Yes the Mass of Christ – called ChristMas
Holds the thrill of Ancient Ways
They say it is the Birth of Christ
Who was born in warmer days

Yes the world is held in an ancient spell
that sparkles and yet it cries
for it ignites and it excites
the wonder of our eyes.

“Ancient pagans fashioned ivy “into wreaths
and garlands for decorations during the winter
months.” Ivy had close ties with the Roman god
of wine, Bacchus.  Holly, meanwhile, figured
prominently in the Roman celebration of the
Saturnalia (upon which the Christmas holiday
was directly modeled), as it was considered
sacred to the god Saturn. Among the Celts,
holly played a major role in summer and
winter pagan solstice observances.”

“Holly and other evergreens were subsequently
adopted by common Christians as Christmas
decorations in Roman times. This, despite
protests from disapproving Church Fathers,
who regarded the decorations as “too pagan.”
Such protests notwithstanding, evergreen
decorations were well on their way to becoming
Christmas institutions, symbols of the pagan
past co-opted by the new religion.”

“Among pagans – In the days before Yule
a tree is cut and brought into the home
to decorate.  Holly and mistletoe are also
hung around the house. Any greenery brought
inside during Winter are used to extend an
invitation to nature to join in our cele-
bration. A Yule altar is usually set up and
decorated with the colours red, green, white

to stay awake all night and greet the sun
when it rises. During the wait for the sun,
rituals are held, and spells are cast and
joyous celebration takes place.”

“Mistletoe was held sacred by the Norse,
the Celtic Druids and the North American
Indians. The Druid priests would cut
mistletoe from an oak tree with a golden
sickle. The branches had to be caught
before they touched the ground. They then
divided the branches into many sprigs
and distributed them to the people,
who hung them over doorways as protection
against thunder, lightning and other evils.”

“From time immemorial the mistletoe
has been the object of superstitious
veneration in Europe. It was worshipped
by the Druids, as we learn from a famous
passage of Pliny. After enumerating the
different kinds of mistletoe, he proceeds:
“In treating of this subject, the admiration
in which the mistletoe is held throughout
Gaul ought not to pass unnoticed. The Druids,
for so they call their wizards, esteem
nothing more sacred than the mistletoe.”

Sir James George Frazer (1854–1941).

“The Druids gather the mistletoe with
solemn ceremony. A priest clad in a white
robe climbs the tree and with a golden
sickle cuts the mistletoe, which is caught
in a white cloth. Then they sacrifice the
victims.”

Sir James George Frazer (1854–1941).

“The Druids believed that a potion
prepared from mistletoe would fertilise
barren cattle, and the Italians holding
that a piece of mistletoe carried about
by a woman would help her to conceive
a child.”

Mistletoe

“No one loves a party like the ancient Romans,
and their festival of Saturnalia is one of the
most well-documented celebrations of the Winter
Solstice. This week-long bacchanal included
exchanging of gifts, lots of food and wine,
dancing and music. This festival honored Saturn,
of course, and he was an agricultural god.
To keep him happy, fertility rituals took place
under the mistletoe. Today, we don’t quite go
that far under our mistletoe (at least not usually)
but it does explain where the kissing tradition
comes from.”
-Mistletoe: Myths, Mysteries and Medicine
By Patti Wigington

“Mistletoe was a sacred plant for the
Druidic people in both Europe and Great
Britain, revered for promoting fertility
and protecting from evil spirits.”

Whose Christmas is it – Anyway ?

Many pagans and wiccans complain that the Christians stole
Christmas From them.  After all – They did celebrate December 25
long before Christ was born.

Some Christians say that it doesn’t matter that Christ was NOT
born in December – and they claim that they are conquering
paganism by “Stealing” their Winter Solstice Celebrations.

More importantly, would Christ approve of this commercialized
holiday that honors the many gods of paganism ?

Who does Christmas Really Belong to ?

WHOSE CHRISTMAS IS IT ANYWAY
“Let’s get this right,
Christmas was a beautiful,
uplifting Pagan celebration
that Christianity purloined
and perverted for its own
dubious ends.”
-DUNDEE University
Emily Mackie

“Christians hijacked the midwinter
pagan festival.”
-The Freethinker
Barry Duke

The full facts concerning Christianity’s
theft of Christmas are detailed in Robert
Stovold’s illustrated 32-page booklet entitled
“Did Christians Steal Christmas?”, published
by the National Secular Society.

“Why did the Christians want the
twenty-fifth of December? Why that
particular date? Why did they deliberately
steal this very important date from the Pagans?”
-The Solstice Season
by Madalyn O’Hair

“Christians, with the authority of the
Roman emperors behind them, stole Christmas
from pagan society. Now perhaps it is time
to give it back. It is time to take Christ
out of Christmas.”
